During May and June, a total of six regional rounds of the Tendon Young Mountaineers competition took place across the Czech Republic, where young mountain and nature enthusiasts could test their skills and test their versatility. The winners of each regional round are now heading to the national finals, which will take place in September in the beautiful surroundings of Blatiny.
This year, regional rounds were held in the following regions:
- Krkonoše
- Orlický horal
- West Bohemia
- Moravia South
- Moravia North
- Moravia Centre
The Tendon Young Mountain Climbers competition is not just about climbing - although here too the participants showed their talent and enthusiasm. Each round tested a wide range of skills: from the basics of health science, orientation in the terrain, tent construction on time, to running prowess and teamwork. It is the variety of tasks that shows just how diverse and complex the skills the young mountaineers are learning. It's not just about performance, but about gaining valuable experience that will help them not only in the outdoors, but also in everyday life.
A big thank you to all the organizers, instructors, parents and of course the children themselves who brought energy, enthusiasm and joy of movement to the competition. We are already looking forward to the September finals in Blatiny, where the best from the regional rounds will compete for the title of national champion.
Fingers crossed for all the finalists and we look forward to more adventures together with Tendon Young Highlanders!
